Great Bay Pottery: Studio

At Great Bay Pottery, we consider all aspects of our unique craft, from creation to final product; important to your visit. Just beyond our fully stocked retail showroom, you are invited to witness firsthand, as our talented artists craft the beautiful products that fill our shelves.

In our fully-operational studio, you'll find all of our talented craftspeople hard at work throwing, glazing, decorating and firing. From wet clay on the potter's wheel, to the final firing, you'll see how our unique pottery is transformed.

Watch as a lump of wet clay takes shape from its initial form into a beautifully crafted pot, bowl, decanter, or specialty work. From here, the pieces are left to dry, are fired in A bisque fire, decorated, glazed, and then fired again in a special glaze kiln. The result is a beautifully handcrafted piece of New England's finest pottery.
